Honouring all Mothers!

Join me today in honouring and celebrating the gift of our mothers… birth mothers, expectant mothers, single mothers, spiritual mothers stepmothers, adoptive mothers, foster mothers, auntiji mothers, god-mothers, surrogate mothers, mothers who sadly are no longer with us, but whose legacy continues and any other mothers that come to mind.  

Take a moment to give thanks for, remember, connect with, call, hold hands, give a hug, make some noise, raise a glass (if that’s your thing), do a Bhangra move… (now that’s my thing!) as we celebrate and honour mothers on this significant day!

Let’s give thanks to God for the mothers who were role models… the wise women, the spiritual guides, the generous hearted, the oaks of righteousness, the curious, the creative, the imaginative, the medics, the writers, the hosts, ... the firsts, the trail blazers, the pioneers, the visionaries, the emancipators, the role models, the courageous, the kind, the advocates, the legacy creators, the entrepreneurs, the resourceful, the tenacious, and SO much more…  who have made a difference in our lives by releasing the gift of who they are to our world.

Let’s pray for the mothers who are separated from their families through circumstance, prison, war and who may be living as refugees. Pray with me for the mothers who are struggling to provide for their families, who are fighting fear and worry and who are alone and lonely.  Finally, let’s pray for all the mothers who are grieving today due to personal loss or from never having known their own mother…

May they know and experience deep healing, comfort and hope in their lives.
